Something Different
A manufacturer of high end professional style appliances wanted a feature to differentiate themselves from the rest of the market.  Marketing folks envisioned a slow open oven door where the cook partially opens the door and then releases the handle and the door opens under its own power in a soft, controlled motion.   Mansfield successfully designed a system that delivered just this motion, and did so within the envelope of a more traditional hinge, leaving valuable cooking space untouched.

Asian Sourcing, Without the Headaches
The largest US manufacturer of clothes dryers wanted Asian sources for their drop down door hinges.  We worked with our Chinese affiliate to come up with pricing and delivery options that met this OEM's strict requirements.  They get the benefit of oversees pricing with none of the hassle.

Price, Price, Price
One of the world’s largest producers or free standing stoves needed the most economical hinge system to help meet intense cost pressures and maintain market share.  We designed for them one of the most cost effective and reliable hinge mechanisms available and supply it to them in volumes exceeding three million hinges annually. 

Supplier to the Rescue
A major appliance manufacturer’s supply chain was threatened with disruption when their hinge supplier announced that they were soon to discontinue production of appliance related hardware.  Mansfield swung into action and traveled to Mexico to begin the process of tooling and production takeover.  This product was moved back into the US without production disruption or cost increases.  This happy ending was made even more so when we improved upon this adopted hinge design and introduced a more robust and reliable hinge design for this customer.

European Design and American Elbow Grease
A major appliance OEM was struggling with European sourcing of a double compression spring, infinite counterbalance hinge.  Mansfield’s experience with design, testing and mass production of this style of hinge allowed us to localize the sourcing of this hinge, easing logistics headaches and the sting of unfavorable currency fluctuations.
